This unit, part of the certificate in ‘Sports Performance Massage,’ © addresses the research and fundamental concepts of foam rolling. The aim of this course is for therapists and fitness trainers working in sport or gym settings to feel confident in using foam rollers and similar devices; a vital skill when working with athletic population. Attendees will be able to use foam rollers to relax overuse syndromes, stimulate muscles in preparation for activity, decrease pain from trigger points, and reduce adhesions.

  • The use of different types of roller
  • When and how to use the foam roller according to scientific research
  • How to identify trigger points
  • The effects of foam rolling on trigger points

Entry Requirements

This course is ideal for physiotherapists, osteopaths, sports massage therapists, sports rehabilitators and sports therapists. Applicants should have a minimum Level 3 qualification in their respective field, however applications are based on their merit

Course Fees - £130 for face to face courses (7 credits for Continuing Professional Development (CPD)). £30 for online courses (3 credits)
